John Townsend Cooper

John Townsend's goal as an attorney has always been to help clients get through difficult situations. His consistent objective is to help clients manage their situation, come to a resolution, and move on with their lives and businesses. A son of the Lowcountry, he has a love for the water and an appreciation for its bearing on risk, liability, business, property, and the people who spend their time on and around it. He also holds a Real Estate Broker's licence and a Residential Builder's license and has civil litigation experience in cases involving business disputes, including partnership and shareholder disputes, maritime claims and defense, construction issues, contracts; and personal injury. He was selected by the American Society of Legal Advocates as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Litigation lawyers in the State of South Carolina for 2014. He currently serves on the South Carolina Bar Trial and Appellate Advocacy Section Council, the South Carolina Bar International Law Committee, and as a Port Director for the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute. He is also a former member of the South Carolina Bar Pro Bono Committee and is a member of the Mount Pleasant Sertoma Club.
